Linc Energy is seeking approval to develop a new underground coal mine in the Bowen Basin north of Emerald.
In August 2011 Linc Energy started the formal environmental assessment of the Teresa Coal Project through the preparation of an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).

Environmental Impact Statement
• An EIS is being undertaken to assess potential impacts of the proposed Project, and to develop appropriate management strategies
• The EIS will be prepared in accordance with the Terms of Reference prepared by the Queensland Government
• The EIS will investigate the following environmental and social issues and include management strategies to mitigate any negative impacts:

• The EIS is expected to be published for public comment in the final quarter of 2012.
