Ken Dark was appointed to the Linc Energy Board in October 2004. He began his career in the area of industrial and electrical engineering. He went on to become a recognised specialist in the aluminium smelting industry where he led multi disciplined project-engineering teams both in Australia and Canada, including work with Alcan Inc. Mr Dark holds tertiary qualifications in industrial electronics and electronics engineering.
Mr Dark later established and continues to operate a highly successful business in the fuel distribution and retail industry. He has represented fuel distributors and retailers, chairing the national marketing committees of two major fuel companies, leading the franchise negotiation committee to the successful renewal of national contracts with one of the oil majors.
During the past year Mr Dark has successfully completed studies required to be admitted as a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Mr Bond has a successful track record in the coal and gold mining industries both in Australia and overseas.
Building on his early engineering background, he has gained a unique knowledge and understanding of the coal mining industry over the course of a diversified career spanning more than 20 years. His various companies are recognised in the mineral processing industry for both innovation and efficiency. Mr Bond has experience in the design, installation, commissioning and operation of complex processing plants and projects.
Mr Bond's business interests include mineral, mining and associated operations in Australia and South East Asia. Mr Bond was appointed to the Board in October 2004.
Jon Mathews brings over 30 years of experience in the Coal Industry. Mr Mathews commenced as a cadet Mine Manager with the Queensland Coal Association and obtained a first class managers certificate (underground and open cut). At 29 years of age he managed Queensland's largest underground producing coal mine at the time. He then progressed to become a General Manager of a mining company which had both open cut and underground, eventually being responsible for the Queensland coal assets for several coal companies.
Over the years, Mr Mathews has been a Member of the Executive Committee of the Queensland Coal Association, Chairman of the Underground Mine Managers Committee (Qld), Director of West Moreton Coal Exporters and Director of Parkhead Rail Terminal.
In recent years since the closing of mining in the West Moreton District he has been heavily involved in mine consulting, risk assessments and the waste management industry. Mr Mathews is a director of three private companies.
Craig Ricato is Linc Energy's Director, Legal and Corporate Affairs. Craig’s primary responsibility is to ensure Linc Energy’s compliance with the regulatory requirements of both the Australian Securities Exchange and the Australian Securities and Investments Commission. Craig also provides legal guidance to the Board, manages the legal affairs of the company and works with the United States team on Linc Energy’s oil and gas acquisition program.
Craig Ricato brings a broad range of international experience to Linc Energy across the regulatory, accounting and legal industries. Craig obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1991 and was admitted as a Legal Practitioner of the Supreme Court in 2001 after graduating with a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours. His early career background prior to joining the legal profession was in the area of Forensic Accounting and law enforcement.
