Linc Energy Director Board Member Anthony Watson

Anthony Watson

General Manager - Commercial

Anthony Watson is responsible for shaping Linc Energy’s business strategy and transitioning projects from the initial business development stage to a commercial transaction. His responsibilities extend globally to facilitate commercial and merger and acquisition opportunities in line with Linc Energy’s strategic business plan. This includes the commercialisation of the company’s UCG business, the divestment of non-core coal assets and the evaluation of oil and gas opportunities. Anthony was responsible for the successful divestment of the ‘Carmichael Project’ to Adani Enterprises in 2010.

Anthony has significant experience in advising, creating and developing opportunities across the energy, mining and oil and gas industries. He brings a wealth of experience to Linc Energy having previously worked in investment banking, law and industry. He has both a Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Laws from the Queensland University of Technology and is an alumni of the London Business School.

 

Linc Energy Director Board Member Anton Rohner

Anton Rohner

Chief Financial Officer

Anton Rohner is an Accountant by profession (CPA Australia) and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Anton has nearly 20 years of experience across the banking, energy, and mining sectors.

Prior to joining Linc Energy, Anton held the position of Managing Director for Renewable Energy and Utilities at Macquarie Bank in Hong Kong, where he was responsible for advising and securing developments in renewable energy and utilities across Asia and Africa. Prior to this, Anton was the Managing Director of Asia for Roaring 40s, a partnership formed between China Light & Power and Hydro Tasmania to develop and operate sources of renewable energy throughout Asia and Australia.

Anton's experience and knowledge in the capital markets, particularly in developing new energy sources is invaluable to his role within Linc Energy. As Chief Financial Officer, he is focused on ensuring the company's finances are properly managed, while shaping the direction of Linc Energy towards commercialisation.

Bipin Patel

General Manager - Clean Energy

Bipin Patel is a Chemical Engineer and has extensive international and diversified experience in the hydrocarbon (oil and gas) industry in Canada, the United States, Qatar, the United Kingdom and Australia. His career achievements span the heavy oil upgrading (Canadian oil sands), refining, natural gas liquefaction, gas to liquids, coal to liquids and natural gas projects and facilities.

Bipin is an energetic and creative leader with considerable experiences in strategic planning, business development, international joint venture establishment, product marketing, front-end engineering designs and the management and execution of large to medium sized projects.

Bipin has 20 years of experiences in major oil companies and 10 years in major engineering, procurement and construction organisations. Prior to joining Linc Energy, he was the Director of Process Technology and Speciality Engineering at Fluor Enterprises Inc. in Houston, United States. He is a team player with solid record in leadership, coaching, implementation of change and promoting entrepreneurial behaviour.

Bipin is responsible and accountable for the overall management and development of Linc Energy’s Clean Energy Business in the United States.

Linc Energy Director Board Member Brian Ferguson

Brian Ferguson

Procurement Manager

Brian Ferguson has been involved in procurement for the oil and gas and mining industries for more than thirty years. He has gained this experience from working in many greenfield projects in Australia, Papua New Guinea and Indonesia. Brian has worked on major projects for Chevron, Bechtel, Placer Dome, Freeport-McMoRan, Newcrest and Newmont. His initial start in the energy industry was with Richter Drilling in Brisbane.

Brian also served for seven years with the Royal Australian Air Force, firstly in Telecommunications before transferring to aircrew as a helicopter crewman. He left the Air Force in 1975 after assisting with civilian helicopter rescue and evacuation during the 1974 Brisbane floods.

Prior to joining Linc Energy, Brian was the Procurement Director-Tanggu for ConocoPhillips on the Bohai Bay Development Project in the People’s Republic of China, a US$5 billion joint venture project between ConocoPhillips and the Chinese National Offshore Oil Corporation.

Corlia Roos

General Manager - Human Resources

Corlia Roos joined Linc Energy as General Manager - Human Resources in 2010 and is responsible for managing the company's human resources function.

Corlia has 18 years of experience in the people management field. She began her career as a Barrister practising in employment law and over the last decade has become an expert in employment practices in the Australian resources sector. Corlia has served as the Director for Business Operations for the Australian Mines and Metals Association, the national employer organisation for the resource sector in Australia. In this role she managed and delivered the Association's human resources services to its 300 corporate members and represented members interests in lobbying activities with federal and state governments.

Corlia has also worked as consultant to various blue chip resource sector companies on diverse people management issues including employer branding, cultural change, employee relations and the introduction of Human Resource Information Systems. Corlia has a passion for excellence in people management and has furthered her expertise through an MBA from Curtin University in Perth, Australia.

Daryl Rattai

General Manager - Underground Coal Gasification Commercialisation

Daryl Rattai is a Petroleum Engineer with over 25 years of experience in the upstream and downstream sectors of the petroleum industry. He has extensive international experience with previous positions held in Australia, Belgium, Canada, Trinidad and the United States.

Daryl’s experience includes positions in senior management, business management, project management, and technical engineering. He has been responsible for oil and gas production operations, specialty well drilling services, and engineering and project management of oil and gas production, oil refining and petrochemical process facility developments.

Daryl is a team-oriented leader with significant achievements in business development and growth. Prior to joining Linc Energy, he held the position of Vice President of Operations with a Canadian oil and gas production company.

Daryl is responsible for the commercialisation of Linc Energy’s Underground Coal Gasification. Prior to this, Daryl led Linc Energy’s UCG team for over two years as General Manager – UCG.

Linc Energy Director Board Member Duncan New

Duncan New

General Manager – Geology and Exploration

Duncan New is a qualified Geologist with a Bachelor of Science (Honours in Geology).  Duncan has over 30 years of experience in oil and gas exploration, with a particular focus on drilling operations.  Duncan has worked in most oil and gas basins (both on-shore and off-shore) in Australia and also has experience in New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.

Prior to joining Linc Energy in July 2011 Duncan has worked for various companies as a drilling engineer responsible for managing oil and gas exploration wells in South Australia, he also has considerable experience as both a wellsite geologist and drilling supervisor in the Cooper Basin.  As Linc Energy’s General Manager of Geology and Exploration, Duncan is responsible for coal, oil and gas exploration and development within Australia.

General Manager - Downstream Technologies

Ernest du Toit is a qualified Chemical Engineer with a PhD in Chemical Engineering. Ernest has over 14 years of experience ranging in research and development, business development and operational fields. His experience includes Fischer-Tropsch catalyst development and process applications in both coal to liquids and GTL plants. Prior to joining Linc Energy, Ernest held various positions in the oil and gas industry, the most recent being that of Technical Manager at the ORYX GTL facility in Qatar.

As Linc Energy’s General Manager Downstream Technologies, Ernest is responsible for developing downstream processes that use UCG synthesis gas. The Downstream team evaluates various available and new technologies to develop optimised process schemes that would best fit into projects for Linc Energy.

Linc Energy Director Board Member Greg Perkins

Greg Perkins

General Manager - Underground Coal Gasification

Dr Greg Perkins is a Process Engineer with over 15 years of experience in the energy, oil, and gas industries. He has extensive international experience having held previous positions in Australia, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Malaysia and the United States.

After internships with BHP and ABB during his undergraduate studies, Greg began his career as a research engineer with Rio Tinto Aluminium. He spent six years working for Shell International in Europe and Asia in a variety of oil and gas focused roles, all with increasing responsibility. Greg began with a number of chemical process development projects before working on problems in multi-phase fluid flow for Shell’s upstream business. He then moved into Shell’s gasification team where he was involved in the commissioning and start-up of a new gasification unit.

Greg’s extensive experience with process and project development combined with a PhD in Underground Coal Gasification (UCG) positions him well for his role at Linc Energy. Since December 2009, Greg has led Linc Energy’s technology team towards commercialising UCG. Today, Greg is responsible for the overall management and development of Linc Energy’s UCG technology.

Linc Energy Director Board Member Janelle van de Velde

General Manager - Corporate Communications and Services

Janelle van de Velde has nearly 25 years of experience working for publicly-listed companies. Having worked for Ergon Energy, she has a diverse perspective of the energy industry. Her previous experience also includes General Manager of a multi-million dollar sporting facility.

Janelle joined Linc Energy in August 2006 with a focus to develop and implement investor relations programs to keep stakeholders informed as its vision unfolded. Over the last five years, Janelle has held many diverse roles at Linc Energy including Investor Relations and Stakeholder Relations.

Janelle’s current role covers both Corporate Services and Corporate Communications. For Corporate Services, Janelle is responsible for ensuring Linc Energy is able to expand globally and has the required business services such as IT, telecommunications, travel and administration to support the company’s anticipated growth.

From a Corporate Communications perspective, Janelle and her team are responsible for delivering a global communications strategy – in particular, developing and leading the growth of corporate communications, media, and stakeholder and government relations activities across all facets of the organisation.

Matthew Buchanan

General Manager Safety, Health and Environment

A qualified Environmental Scientist, Matt joined Linc Energy in 2007 after an extensive career in managing environmental issues in politically sensitive projects in the mining, minerals processing and power generation sectors. He also spent considerable time as a Queensland state government environmental regulator implementing policy and regulations.

With 17 years experience, Matt brings to Linc Energy skills in environmental impact assessment, project management, management systems development and regulatory compliance.

In his role at Linc Energy, Matt is responsible for overseeing the company's performance in the safety, health and environment sphere, including the implementation of the company's environmental and safety policies and the development of systems to ensure effective performance.

Linc Energy Director Board Member Nicole Tetrault

Nicole Tetrault

Manager - Drilling (Australia)

Nicole Tetrault is a Petroleum Engineer with over 12 years of experience in drilling operations.  She has supervisory and design experience in Australia, Canada and the United States.  Nicole moved from Calgary in Canada with her family to capitalise on the opportunity to join Linc Energy, in Brisbane.

At Linc Energy Nicole is responsible for overseeing the drilling and completion operations for the company’s operations in Australia, including the operations of the company’s dedicated drilling rigs and the safety of its operations.

Prior to joining Linc Energy, Nicole was the senior drilling engineer responsible for new ventures for an international oil and gas production company.  These operations often relied upon the assessment and deployment of new technologies or the modification of existing techniques in order to improve efficiencies and reduce costs. Nicole’s other experiences includes roles with both operating and service companies.  As a result, Nicole brings technical solutions in a commercially focused manner.

With practical experience designing and supervising operations involving high pressure and high temperature reservoirs and under-balanced drilling conditions, Nicole is able to assess and implement appropriate technology for the variety of operational needs that Linc Energy faces in its conventional oil and gas objectives and Underground Coal Gasification projects.
