With the acquisition of global oil and gas assets, Linc Energy views Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) as an excellent fit for its business strategy. Linc Energy will apply EOR to near depleted oil reservoirs as the final phase of oil production. The leader in UCG to produce power and transport fuels for the future, Linc Energy will use its waste carbon dioxide from UCG for EOR. This approach is also known as a method of carbon capture and storage.
EOR involves the injection of a fluid into an established oil reservoir to extract as much oil, if not more, from the preceding production phases. The fluid Linc Energy will use in its application of the EOR process will be carbon dioxide. This is considered one of the best options as it acts as a solvent to sweep the majority of the remaining oil to the surface.
